Join members of Decarcerate Western MA for an in-person gathering at Look Park in Florence, MA. We rented out the Playground Shelter and will be hanging out there from 11am-2pm. This event is open to anyone who has ever contributed to our work - whether you were part of the original group of folks that formed Decarcerate during Covid, or posted bail for the Bailout Project, or helped us plan political education events.

Food will be provided, as will beverages. You are welcome to bring your partners, family, etc. We are also happy to cover the cost of parking (which should be $5 for the day) and you just need to say you are attending the “community gathering” and you’ll get in for free. If you have favorite outdoor game you’d like to bring, feel free!

We will be collecting donations to support the monthly solidarity gatherings in Holyoke that are hosted by the New Era Young Lords. These gatherings provide space for community members to come together for a hot meal, resources, and topical discussions. We are looking to collect clothes (such as socks and jackets), canned goods, diapers and wipes, school supplies, hygiene products , and harm reduction supplies.

Make sure to RSVP so we can make sure to have enough food and beverages, and so we can notify folks in case we get rained out.
